Mr. Patrick McGovern passed away on March 19th, 2014. He was not only a successful business leader, but also a visionary supporter of brain research. Together with his wife Lore Harp McGovern, he has established the IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain at Peking University. The McGoverns have interacted with Peking University at many levels from the university leadership to students, on occasions ranging from board meetings to scientific symposia. Our faculty and students treasure the inspiration, wisdom and generosity of Patrick McGovern.

The president of Peking University was saddened by the loss of a true friend for Peking University.

The faculty, staff and students of the IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Peking University will miss Patrick McGovern.
