Recently, The NSFC has sponsored 12,000,000 CNY to the innovation group of “ Neural, molecular and genetic mechanisms of high-level cognition ” which is hosted by Yi Rao, the director of IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Peking University. The grants will begin at 2015/01/01, and end at 2020/12/31. The corn members of the innovation group are Fang Fang, Jiahong Gao, Shihui Han, Yuji Naya and Jian Li, who are all from the institute.

The IDG McGovern Institute for Brain Research at PKU consists of neural and cognitive scientists at Peking University, focusing on understanding fundamental processes underlying brain function and uncovering mechanisms of brain disorders.

The institute was established in 2012, founded and held by Patrick J. McGovern and Lore Harp McGovern. Its fundamental purpose is to make fully utilize of the multi-disciplinary advantage in PKU, to promote understanding of the human brain, help solve the human brain and nerve system disorders, thus improve human welfare.
